At 1st I thought I knew it all and it's not going to help, but I was wrong. This program has been a great help, approach with an open mind and the better it will be for you.

The course was helpful to me by increasing my confidence and attitude towards my disability and making me consider ways forward. The single most helpful item was that pain does not mean damage. I have done some research based on that premise and discovered that my disability is not my fault in any way, that there is nothing in my life that I have either done or not done to cause it and that although it is progressive I cannot do any further damage by any of my activities. So thank you.

I enjoyed the course. I had completed 2 pain management courses previously but this course was a great refresher course. It reminded of somethings I had forgotten.

I have found the course to be extremely helpful in understanding my Pain, what it is, why it's there, the most likely causes of it and how my day to day habits had been increasing it rather than helping me, even although at the time I thought I actually was making improvements. The Steps are set out clearly, easily and simply, and having the Library available as you go is a great help. At the end of the Course I'm now so much more aware of what my Pain means and how to deal with it. As the experts have said, it will take time but I can now pace myself, setting realistic goals and more importantly achieve them. Don't think to yourself; "The sooner I finish the course the better I'll be." That's not the case! You need to take time, make notes as you go, use the Journal available to you, make sure you understand the exercises, are doing them correctly and then move on. You will get reminders to log on which is good but as you will learn through the course, one of your priorities is to pace yourself - get that right and the rest will follow.

I thoroughly enjoyed this course, although I wasn't expecting to! The information and guidance is paced well and it is great that there is the opton to pause while I take in information. I liked all the different approaches - especially the stretching and relaxation exerices which I know will be very useful for me in managing Fybromyalgia. I like that there is a library for me to return to at any time. I have already reduced the amount of medication I was taking which is very positive for me as I really do not want to rely on meds. In the past I was taking meds as soon as I expereinced pain; now I wait a bit and try other methods first. Before this course I hadn't really considered that 'pain does not mean damage'. A very simple but very important realisation that reduces fear and anxiety and reminds me that I can take control of managing my pain. Thank you very much to all the team for putting this course together.

I would recommend this course, the relaxation techniques are good and things are well explained. It’s not going to cure you but it’s another tool in your armoury to fight the dreaded demon pain.

In some ways the course does help, in how to think about pain or how to deal with. Just looking at it in a different way

Thank you. Any little thing to help come to terms with and to manage chronic pain is helpful and this course has been just that. The exercises are helpful and good to have to go back to.

Pain does not mean harm I don’t think this is true in my case in fact I know that if I feel sharp pain I must stop My pain is constant and that also means I have to pace myself to try and complete a task and indeed I think it will mean harm if I don’t stop
