I liked this online course as it was more comfortable for me to be able to do although a lot of the course I have already done with various physios and different consultants, I do self meditation and breathing techniques and this is what helps me cope. The course was a good idea for people with less complex conditions, as I find that certain things can make my body worse and after 11 years of being in pain and not having use of my legs have found what works and what doesn't, I am glad this course has helped other sufferers.

Bit skeptical when I started - I work full-time and unable to attend classes - felt much of the course is aimed at people who are older/not working but did find other areas particularly useful- mixed bag I suppose

A great informative course. This was recommended by the pain management team. I’ve already started to use some of the techniques from the course. Loving the meditations and will be using these regularly to help me be more in control and manage my pain.

This course put everything into perspective, not allowing the pain I do experience to rule my life, rather I rule it and can manage it. It is something I have to live with, it will never go away but I can learn to own it and manage it.

I feel that this course is not aimed at my age group. I feel that some of the suggestions offered on this online course and the programme while I attended can not be carried out by younger people who have to work. I feel that it would have been a lot better if I was able to choose how many steps I could complete each time rather than being limited because some days are better than others and some days I feel more motivated. This would have meant I was able to complete the course a lot quicker.

This course has really given me the push to help me reassess my life and working through the pain with different meditation sessions that I have found to be very useful taking timeout for yourself is something that I have never really found time for but just stopping for 20 minutes and using the different meditation audios has had a positive effect on my day to day life. Pacing my activities throughout the day has been a game changer for me and although I still occasionally overdo it I am gradually starting to notice how much I can tolerate and push myself before I need to take a break and rest to stop a major pain flare up. Thanks to all the team x

I have found this course very helpful . Although I have some medical knowledge, it has reinforced the importance of keeping moving, using relaxation techniques, and thinking positive. I have previously avoided exercise when in pain, now I keep going within my limitations.

I found the course very helpful and am so thankful that I was given the opportunity to take part. I thought I had already put into practice a number of ways to help myself without resorting to strong pain killers, eg Meditation, Mindfulness. But the course highlighted areas I hadn’t considered and helped me focus on other positive ways to approach and deal with my pain. I highly recommend anyone in chronic pain to follow this course, complete each stage, practice the exercises and meditations, it really does help a lot. I still have pain but I don’t allow it to fill my head and take over.

The course provided a structure and a focus to help with pain management. Working through the steps for the first time was an introduction to different ways of coping with chronic pain(s). The steps need to be revisited over time, and periodically, taking into account the goals which have been set.

The course was excellent. It mirrored the research that I had read about pain management. It was delivered in clear language and was well structured. It has helped me to organise my days in beneficial ways. Each morning I start with stretching. If I omit this step, my back complains during the day. Many thanks for the program. It has helped me immensely.

I have really enjoyed the online course, having been in chronic pain for so long, the course has given me lots of beneficial techniques to help me. It has taught me to relax more, to take my mind away from My pain, by doing hobbies, walking and also Pacing which I’m putting into practice and also my family are pacing too, which is great! It is so very important getting a good sleep routine, I am waking up feeling as though I’ve slept well. Doing the stretching exercises really help too. I think I lost my way a little and doing this course has set me back on track so I’m able to build on what I’ve learnt and enjoy my life again. Thank you for such a great course

I have really enjoyed this course, much of which I have covered before because of my ongoing depressive malady. However, this course has been really well presented and in just the right sized bites so that the mind does not get overloaded or go numb, which does happen with some courses and tutorials. It is well balanced too, with exercises introduced at sensible stages to reinforce the concept that has just been discussed. I should like to give this course and all those who input, 100% - bear in mind I have been through such courses of varying types before. This one actually works! Thank you - I really should like to have access to this whole course again to keep my mind actively reinforced with the concepts presented.

For me, the best message was that pain does not equal damage. I made it my mantra which helped me cope on days when the pain was severe. I was always a practitioner of mindfulness so it was good to hear that it is a fundamental part of managing pain. I have continued to do this to change my mindset and along with exercise, I have managed to take control more. This course has been easy to access and has helped me see things differently. Alongside the library, it would be helpful to access various stages again to have some over learning. I am grateful that the physiotherapist recommended me to undertake this e-learning and I would like to thank the team for improving my understanding.
