I found the program really good, it is the first time that someone has given me helpful ways to manage my mind set when the pain is bad ie how am I supposed to manage pain for the rest of my life , just changing my mind set to get through the day and see what tomorrow holds. The relaxation program was brilliant and since doing this program, I have used it in the middle of the night when I was trying to sleep and it worked . I have tried to come off my medication but unfortunately that hasn’t happened but instead I have cut down so when I have a flare up I can just go up my medication instead of taking stronger medication. The stretching has definitely helped in the mornings with getting up and moving around. Which goes for the light exercises . My main problem was Pacing but that has got so much better as I set out three goals it might be dusting bedroom, hoovering bedroom and sorting out washing I will start dusting, if I need to sit I sort out clothes , I finish dusting after putting clothes away then I will hover bedroom and before it becomes an issue I have paced and achieved my goals for the day. Some time it will take longer so make the goals achieve able but then make them really easy as you feel better doing the tasks and spending the day mopping about what you lost and what you can’t achieve this will bring you down and then it is harder to get up also the pain is a lot worse . Before starting on this program, I was ln a lot of pain because I kept pulling my tendons as I was so stiff and worried that I would damage my self .By Stretching and moving this has really helped and doing relaxation techniques has stopped myself from being so stiff which all round has lessened the pain . I had read several books, attended pain management classes and engaged with physiotherapy but I felt a bit overwhelmed with all the bits of advice from all quarters. But when I went through this absolutely excellent programme I was so pleased to have somewhere to bring everything together. I can now engage with all of the sessions all over again and continue to write in the journal on a daily basis. I cannot praise this programme enough.

This program has definitely helped me to understand the need to have coping techniques for pain management. Not only exercises & stretches to alleviate the pain & stiffness, but meditation & mindfulness to distract your thoughts away to a quiet and peaceful head space. Also, it is good to learn that I don't have to carry on exercising regardless, but that I can cut back when a back pain flair up occurs, so I can recover without feeling guilty, and slowly build back up. The program has given me the tools to cope with pain better and I fully recommend that people take the opportunity to stick with the programme and help themselves to understand that even a small amount of exercise, stretching and meditation will help them relieve their pain.

My first thoughts were 'I'm not sure how an online program is going to help me physically, and is this just something that I'll end up going through the motions of' but I have to commend the structure of the program and more importantly the empathy in which it has been put together and the structure it takes. My personal experience of living with constant pain, is that no one around me, and that includes close family, have an inkling of how I feel in my self, which leads me to understating the issues I'm going through so as not to burden/bore them with it. They don't know what to do or say to help, so end up through no fault of their own, becoming impatient or dismissive of it. One ends up feeling like a burden. Access to this program made me, or rather confirmed to me that I was not alone. I'm sensible enough to know that it's not just me in the world that is living with acute pain on a daily basis, but living like this while those around you carry on living a normal life, is a lonely experience, the program has helped me feel less alone. If I'm honest, I started the program with no expectations, but now having finished it, I'm going to miss the interaction. If you are living and having to cope with pain, then I thoroughly recommend this program, stick with it, it's so worth it.

When it was suggested I go on this program I thought it was going to be face to face not online. I like the fact I now have a library of help I can refer back to but in all honesty my health has improved little. I am still in constant pain with no idea where to go next which is very depressing. I also have street as I have to reapply for my benefits to go into universal credit and my son who is in a very toxic relationship. In round up I will use my library but am not confident that my pain is manageable anymore.

I found this a great way of bringing together information and techniques some of which I was aware of. However the program put everything thing into perspective. Now feel I have a an understandable and easily implementable approach to dealing with my pain. One of my next steps is to discuss with my GP the possibility of reducing my medication as a starting point. I am eager to stay motivated and continue with the stretching, relaxation and approach to my thinking about pain. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity the programme has given me and already feeling the benefits. Thank you.

I am so glad to have been able to do this programme. It has helped me to really consider what I can do to manage my pain. I am also a lot more aware of pain itself and the impact it has on not just myself. The pain others have and how we deal with it. This program is thorough and deals with different aspects of pain that need to know and look at. It was very useful to me. I now want to be able to continue with the tools with the hope it will continue to benefit me and also my relationships and work.

Hi thanks for letting me work through this program. I have many bad days as only just diagnosed with chronic pain condition. There were useful tips, but tbh my condition can be so restrictive, some of what was said made me feel like it's all in my head, which I have been told by professionals for years and made to feel worthless, but the meditation and some relaxation tips and light stretching activities I will def try to continue with at my own pace. Thank you

I have done these similar programs so many time . So aware of stuff . I try my best to do things and I know now when I have a flare up to be very careful pace myself

The programme helped me to understand my condition and encouraged me to try and exercise some control over it. I use the relaxation and meditation programmes and they help. I would encourage others to keep returning to the programme and build their own digest to fit their needs and changing moods. It is carefully constructed and has a path for you if you keep returning and building a little bit more.

Having a detailed knowledge of managing pain is a great advantage in how you can enjoy your life more. However life can throw you curve balls, as we all know, but by using the technigues taught can give you a firm platform from which to base ,can give you a powerful partner to fight the problems associated with chronic pain. I was really sceptical at the beginning. I couldn't think how an online program could help the chronic pain I am in. But I was willing to try anything. Boy, how wrong I was to be sceptical! This program has really changed my life. I loved the fact, I could go at my own pace taking it all in & be able to put into practice the techniques that have done wonders for me. My outlook on my life has changed for the better I'm more positive & less irritable as I can now work through the bad days. I particularly love the guided meditations & stretches. They help me to relax & sleep, which I was really struggling with at the beginning. Please give this a chance, I cannot recommend it enough. Medication does not really help me, plus I don't particularly want to be medicated as it makes me drowsy & sluggish. With this now I don't need to be. I can go to my library & work on what I've learnt & how it helps me. Thank you to all the specialists involved in this pathway through pain program, for all your support & knowledge. This program has really helped me. I can now see & feel the benefits.

The Pain Management Programme was no use to me at all. It taught me nothing I wasn't already engaged in, and felt patronising more than anything. Any improvements within my health, both physical and mental, were obtained through obtaining private treatment via my employer's insurance programme. While the program might work for some, people who are capable of independently researching are unlikely to obtain the benefits and outcomes you perhaps expect to achieve.
