What I appreciate is that there is something out there to address those who suffer from pain. As pain is invisible, this course gives this issue a voice and acknowledgment. For me personally, it has not taught me anything new but I enjoyed the meditation videos. I haven’t found any of the techniques helpful, but I did try them. I certainly have taken a better approach to the way I think & have been kinder to myself - this was especially after several recent diagnosis’s which gave my pain a reason. Before that, I labelled myself useless and was frustrated all the time, now I understand why I hurt so much.

There are parts of the course that I enjoyed and found useful to include to my life, most part I already was doing, as you know people in pain will try anything to help reduce the pain. The meditation part of the course was helpful, but I found the course very condescending, making you feel like you don’t know anything and have not looked in to everything to help yourself, I enjoyed going though the course, but knew all the information given already. Try the course and work the steps and take your time doing it, it helps if you are not already doing the steps. The course promotes self confidence and this is hard when you have anxiety problems and self body issues, but keep going, enjoy the fact you can do it. But I have to say that you know yourself and what works for you and what doesn’t, everyone is different and everyone has there own ways off coping. What works for you might not work for someone else, remember you know best. Trust your own thought and feeling and get the help you need.

A great and wide ranging course to help various aspects of pain management. Not all elements were relevant to me or the area I get pain, but it was all useful knowledge.

I did a pain management course years ago, which helped me. This course covered the same things for me. The stretches do help, as does the pacing, you need to get to know your body and what you're capable of and then just push it a bit more and a bit more, but not so much that it causes you pain. Eventually, you will be able to do a little bit more, depending on your individual circumstances. Best wishes to you all. Vicky

I find the course useful. I have covered similar courses however, this one is more detailed a reactive by giving time to practice techniques.

I am finding this course beneficial and plan to re visit the course via the library often. I am thankful that i have been lucky enough to have had this opportunity to learn coping strategies and so very much more. I have worked through the course at my own pace, which has been beneficial. I would highly recommend to anyone suffering with Chronic Pain. One thing to bare in mind is this is a personal journey for you, like most things in life you get out of the course what you put in.

I was unsure that the course would offer me anything new, but was pleasantly surprised. Having fibromyalgia, I know the pain does not come from being damaged, but because of this I never took breaks or slowed down when I needed to, consequently making myself feel worse. I believed I could work through it. Now I take breaks and find I can do more. The stretching and meditation were the most helpful to me.

I did find support on the Persistent Pain course, especially with the breathing work. I liked the pacing suggestions, some very good ideas. And the sitting twists and forward bends from sitting especially. All your team could not have been more encouraging and empathetic. Thank you all of you.

When i began this Course, during the Pre Christmas 2021 period , i was feeling sceptical, and depressed. To my surprise, my mood has improved to such an extent that a friend noticed the difference from other years. I have more energy, and have re used the Sleep, and Pain control Meditations with success.. i still use pain control meds but i am open to the possibility of change. I recommend this course, because it made a positive difference.

This has been the best course by far that I've been on. It has helped me to see what I need to change in my life to help me cope with the chronic pain. I found new ways to help me take control of most of my pain. I have 1 more better day now then I did before this and I hope I get more back. I have told others to get themselves referred to this course.

I found the Pathway through Pain online course extremely helpful and convenient. The Library section is excellent as it allowed me to go over techniques which I learned in the early part of the course. Not only do you learn stretching techniques but also various types of relaxation meditation to complement the physical part of the course. I would highly recommend the course.

The course was very interesting and easy to follow. The downloadable videos are useful to use whenever you need them. I found the total relaxation video helpful at night as long as i didn't see the screen, as the coloured shape brought on migraines. I took a bit longer than the suggested time to complete the course due to illness. My new favourite word is PACING. I try to do this as much as possible, not always easy when at work but sometimes alongside other things you can come to an arrangement that will help both parties . Im glad I did the course and would recommend everyone offered it should give it a go.

Very interesting course and even though I haven't felt like I've benefitted from it, I will continue with the advice it gives you. I can see it would help a lot of people though who have been down all other routes.

This is all things I’ve been doing and know about. Breathe, meditate, no stress etc etc I don’t think we all need to be patronised over and over. The reason I went to the doctor ten years ago is I was in pain I couldn’t deal with my normal life. I don’t want to be put on painkillers. I want something done and there’s many options and you just go round and round pain clinic, physio operation and back around. You don’t get support you get 5 minutes told how to breathe
