The course provides lots of information and strategies to help manage chronic pain.
The positivity from this course has helped me to have the confidence to start the new year with a new job. I was always very careful in what I did because I believed that pain meant damage and now I am doing a lot more and working through the pain, being careful to pace myself. Many thanks to the whole team for all the help you have given me.
I found this course extremely useful and informative. It was very easy and clear to follow with each step. I especially found the meditation exercises beneficial and I will be continuing them. There is a lot to think about and it can really be put into place in my daily living. Many thanks!
Excellent well-structured course which includes elements such as the relaxation exercises which I would not previously have considered as part of pain management.
I found this course extremely useful and informative. It was very easy and clear to follow with each step. I especially found the meditation exercises beneficial to me and I will be continuing them. Also, the Challenging Thoughts section. There is a lot to think about and it can really be put in to place in my daily living. Many thanks!
I have learnt some new information and techniques that are helpful and being able to go to the library and return to certain aspects of exercise is really helpful.
Thanks for all the guidance of helping me cope with the pain. Just want to add that I have recently achieved one of my goals and that was passing my driving test.
As a new member of the Chronic Pain team it was very useful for me to experience the online PMP as a patient would see it.
The meditation has been really useful. I have definitely felt an improvement in my movements and sleep. It's really helped me sleep better so I feel I have more energy. I have found by sleeping better I am more positive and more mobile. Keep going and finish the course, it definitely has helped me with my overall pain and mobility.
Overall the course was quite helpful, especially the meditation. I found the relaxation certainly helped me to begin to understand the pain, although it did not disappear. But I did not expect it to.
The course helped reinforce key messages about pain and how to manage it. It allowed me to have a better understanding of chronic pain. The difficulty of the course is being disciplined enough to put it into practise day to day, especially when pacing and flare ups are dictated by work schedules. That aside, challenging negativity in thinking and consistency in efforts to achieve are the things that I take away to work on day to day.
I have enjoyed the course and found it helpful, although my ongoing pain still affects my life. Having this course online is a good thing for people like myself who don’t enjoy being around others and find it a problem mixing with strangers and this course makes me feel grateful and not being able to get out and having to rely on others to take me out when they can means I was able to complete the course from home for which I am truly thankful.
I've found the course useful and the format allows me to go back over things to remind myself of the best way forward. The relaxation and meditation audios are most helpful.
Hi, my name is Karen. I've found the course most helpful, I've been in pain for about a year now having been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I'm still determined to carry on as best as I can and the course has given me tips and advice on how to without doing to much and feeling guilty for not doing everything. Small steps are the best, I'm trying to manage my pain without medication so the relaxation techniques have been fantastic. Thank you for your help.
I have found this course very helpful and informative. I have used the relaxation and meditation a lot and really noticed the benefit. Positive thinking, realising I'm in control has helped with the stretches and exercises. Thank you
A step forward in pain management
This course can appear a bit daunting and long in the beginning, but it is really worthwhile and rewarding to stick with it and complete. For me, pacing seems to be the key to success, as I would normally be quite impatient.
Absolutely fantastic course
This has been a very instructive course for me. I realise that the actual physical problem that causes my pain will not be resolved but I have learnt to keep it at bay by adopting many of the techniques provided in the course. Very worthwhile for anyone with persistent pain.
This course has actually made me feel better/more positive about myself. In the past many Dr's attitudes over the years have made my mood plummet to rock bottom when they constantly disbelieve you when you say you are in severe pain. Many Dr's at my surgery could benefit and be educated by following this Pathway through Pain course for a better understanding.
I loved this course! My fibromyalgia has got steadily worse since I was diagnosed 17 years ago and this course has helped me accept that there is no ‘cure’, that I can’t be as active as I was but I can still manage my life far better even with the pain. I have the confidence to keep trying and I am now much more mentally resilient.
Excellent course, although I am still experiencing pain, I can manage much better, and the pain is less of an issue.
